Abstract：
Cryptosystems intended to secure IT applications especially in mobile environments are more and more subjected to various attacks aimed to the extraction of their cryptographic secrets. Side channel analysis (SCA) methods, which exploit the dynamic power consumption of a cryptosystem, form the foundation of one of the most frequently used attack approaches to unveil cryptographic secrets.

This presentation gives first an introduction to this field to motivate the need of new construction methods, which consider the SCA-awareness of a cryptosystem as an explicit design goal. Then, some new analysis methods, namely Power Amount Analysis and Stochastic Approach, are discussed as efficient means for a fast and accurate assessment of the SCA resistance of and for the location of information leakage within a cryptosystem. In the third part of the presentation novel construction concepts based on dynamically mutating processing units and on virtualization methods in multi-core HW modules of the underlying embedded system are introduced and discussed in the context of both symmetric and asymmetric encryption schemes. The talk concludes with an outlook on the ongoing own research work aiming to a complete synthesis tool set for an automated construction of SCA-aware cryptographic modules.

Prof. Sorin A. Huss, 德国达姆斯塔特工业大学计算机科学系教授，德国高级安全研究中心（CASED）主任，

IEEE Fellow。

Huss教授分别于1976年和1982年在德国慕尼黑工业大学获得电气工程硕士和博士学位。1982年至1990年，Huss教授在德国乌尔姆的AEG股份公司任职，从1986年开始领导AEG集成电路设计中心的CAD/CAE部门，这段时间内其承担了国家和欧洲的重大研究项目。1990年，他成为德国达姆施塔特工业大学计算机科学系的正教授。作为达姆施塔特高级安全研究中心（CASED）的创始人之一，他领导了“SecureThing”研究团队。在教学和研究生涯中，他主编了两本专业著作，并参与了多本著作中相关章节的编写。超过240篇论文在国际顶尖期刊和会议上发表，多次获得最佳论文。

他目前的研究方向包括嵌入式系统设计方法、信息技术的安全应用，其领导的研究小组在电路分析和设计方面的研究水平处于国际领先地位。Huss教授目前是ACM、IEEE、德国计算机科学协会（GI）、德国信息技术协会（ITG）的成员。他曾经担任FDL'06和COSADE'10学术会议的大会主席，并多次担任相关领域国际会议的程序委员会和编辑委员会成员。除了学术职务外，他还是欧盟、德国研究基金会和一些国际公司的科学顾问。
